Fans outraged after all three contestants get stumped on this prayer question

Jeopardy! contestants were recently stumped by a seemingly simple clue about the Lord’s Prayer, much to the surprise of many Christian viewers. The $200 clue, read by host Mayim Bialik on the June 13 episode, was: “Matthew 6:9 says, ‘Our Father Which Art In Heaven,’ This ‘Be Thy Name.’” The answer was “hallowed,” but none of the contestants responded correctly.

The surprising miss drew reactions on social media. “Not one contestant on Jeopardy last night knew the answer to this…Are you waking up yet?” one Twitter user wrote. Another tweet remarked, “The Lord’s Prayer growing up was like knowing The Pledge of Allegiance. You just did.”

While some saw it as a sign of waning religious knowledge, others had different interpretations. “I’m an atheist and even I knew the answer to that lord’s prayer question,” one user said. Another joked, “Have they never listened to Iron Maiden?”

Jeopardy! often includes questions about Christianity and the Bible, and contestants usually do well. However, given the diverse backgrounds of participants, it’s possible these three did not have the same familiarity with the prayer.
