Magnets are inexpensive, effective, and simple to use. Magnets, on the other hand, are particularly useful for storing items on a vertical surface. And your home is full of vertical surfaces, such as walls, doors, cupboard doors, and more, that are just ready to be used for more storage!
1. Spices
Stick magnets to the backs of your spice containers. You can keep them on the side of your fridge, or on the inside of a cupboard. Not only does it make your spices easy to identify while you’re cooking, but it also makes it easy to see when you’re running out of something.
2. Knives
Hang a magnetic knife bar in your kitchen to store your knifes and other metal kitchen tools. They keep everything handy, and it also adds visual interest to your kitchen walls.
3. Tools
Another great place to hang a magnetic bar is in the garage! A magnetic storage bar is a great place to hang screwdrivers, wrenches, scissors, and other small tools that you tend to use frequently.
4. Toys
Hang up a magnetic bar in the playroom for toy cars, and other magnetic toys. Again, it will help keep things organized and it will look great on the wall, too!
5. Keys
A magnetic knife bar would work great in an entryway, too. Hang your keys from it so you always know where they are!
6. Cups
If you have little kids around the house, you probably also have a lot of cups around the house! When my kids were younger, they used to use a new cup every time they wanted a drink, and it drove me crazy! If I could turn back time, I would definitely use magnets to solve the problem!
Just hot glue a magnet to the side of a child’s cup, then stick the cup to the fridge. When your child wants a drink, they’ll be able to grab their cup from the fridge instead of using yet another clean cup!
7. Makeup
I like the portability of my makeup bag, but I definitely don’t love when I have to dig through it to find what I’m looking for. But I recently stumbled onto a great idea for using magnets to organize your makeup! Just glue magnets onto the back of each of the makeup items you use regularly, and stick them to a metal or magnetic board in your bathroom. Your makeup has never been more accessible!
8. Flashlight
Put a magnet on the side of a small flashlight, and stick the flashlight to your fuse box. That way you’ll always be prepared if you find yourself in the dark and needing to reset a fuse!
9. Printables
Create an easy display for artwork and printables on your fridge with just a couple of magnets! Take a page protector or sheet protector and glue a couple of magnets to the back of it. Slide in a picture or printable and stick it right to your fridge.
10. Bobby Pins
Stick a magnetic strip to the inside of a drawer or cupboard in your bathroom to keep track of all your bobby pins. They stick nicely to the magnetic tape, and they’re harder to lose when they’re not sliding around in a drawer somewhere!
