A resident in an Austin, Texas neighborhood has faced criticism for coloring his home a vibrant Pepto-Bismol pink and it is leading to discomfort among nearby inhabitants.
Most Americans have a Homeowner’s Alliance or HOA which assists in maintaining the uniform appearance of the residences and can also contribute to funding beneficial communal amenities for inhabitants.
However, inhabitant Emilio Rodriguez purchased his residence in Pflugerville, Texas specifically because it lacks an HOA.
This indicated he was able to achieve his aspiration of coloring everything in a pink hue. A determination that is resulting in some issues with his neighbors.
“I love this house. I don’t know why people don’t like it,” Emilio told CBS17
Upon purchasing his home, it was a neutral tone, but now it’s his preferred shade and he intends to paint additional areas of his residence in Pepto-Bismol pink.
His neighbors are displeased with the pink house and are worried that it will lower property values in the vicinity.
However, Emilio, who is wheelchair-bound after a car accident and a variety of health concerns, mentions that the hue of his residence brings him joy.
He states the hue also aids in preserving the “Maintain Austin Peculiar” atmosphere.
